Statutory Mandate

The Eritrea Maritime Registry exercises full flag state jurisdiction over Eritrean-flagged vessels operating in international and domestic waters.

The Registry is responsible for ensuring that vessels flying the Eritrean flag comply with applicable national laws and international obligations relating to maritime safety, ship security, seafarer labor standards, and the prevention of pollution from ships.
