Legal authority, mission, and administrative principles of the Eritrea Maritime Registry
The Eritrea Maritime Registry operates under the authority of the Government of the State of Eritrea and functions as the competent national authority for maritime administration. The Registry is responsible for implementing, administering, and enforcing national maritime laws and regulations, as well as applicable international maritime conventions.
In its capacity as the official flag state administration, the Registry exercises jurisdiction and control over all vessels registered under the Eritrean flag, whether operating in domestic waters or engaged in international trade.
