STCW-compliant certification for seafarers serving on Eritrean-flagged vessels
The Eritrea Maritime Registry administers seafarer certification in accordance with the STCW Convention, ensuring seafarers possess the required qualifications and competence.
Issued to qualified seafarers who meet required standards of training, examination, sea service, and medical fitness.
Issued to seafarers holding CoCs from recognized foreign maritime administrations for service on Eritrean-flagged vessels.
Issued to seafarers who have completed approved Global Maritime Distress and Safety System training.
Issued to eligible seafarers holding valid certificates from recognized administrations.
Submission of complete application and all supporting documentation
Verification and assessment by the Registry for authenticity and STCW compliance
Approval by the competent authority within the Registry
Issuance of Certificate or Endorsement and recording in official records
Certificates of Competency issued by recognized maritime administrations are accepted by the Eritrea Maritime Registry, subject to verification of authenticity, validity, and compliance with applicable STCW requirements. The Registry maintains procedures for evaluating foreign certificates and ensures that only those meeting internationally accepted standards are endorsed.
